The Breaking Point Arc is the tenth story arc covered in the Ranma ½ manga, spanning five chapters. This arc was included in volume 6 of the Weekly Shōnen Sunday tankōbon and volume 5 of the Viz Media tankōbon.
Plot Summary[]
After getting lost yet again, Ryoga is discovered by Cologne in his pig form who intends to eat him before learning of his Jusenkyo curse.[1] Once Ryoga manages to leave the Cat Café, he heads off to challenge Ranma only to lose yet again. Devestated at losing in front of Akane, Ryoga accepts Cologne's offer to train him.[1] At the same time Ranma heads off to the Wilderness of Japan to do some training himself.[2]
On the evening of the following day, Ranma learns of Ryoga's presence as he watches him eat some of Akane's inedible cooking.[2] This leads to Ranma arguing with Akane and Ryoga until Cologne intervenes, prompting Akane to leave Ranma in favor of looking after Ryoga since he appreciates her cooking.[2][3]
Once the pair finish training over the following week they prepare to face each other, with Akane as the unwilling prize.[3] Despite his initial self-confidence,[4] Ranma sees just how much Ryoga has improved, causing him to flee temporarily.[4][5] Upon retreating to the forest, Ranma begins uses a combination of increasing his speed by jumping off branches and the Kachu Tenshin Amaguriken to make his punches more powerful until he uses the last of his strength to finally render Ryoga unconscious.[5] When he awakes, Ryoga tells Ranma to say goodbye to Akane for him, but this doesn't stop Ryoga returning to the Tendo Dojo in his P-chan form.[5]
