Sibling Warfare (私闘!九能兄弟, Shito! Kuno kyodai?) is the 211st chapter of the Ranma ½ manga and the first chapter of the Tatewaki vs. Kodachi Arc.
Summary[]
The Kuno siblings get into a fight and it's up to Ranma to help them reconcile.
Plot Overview[]
It's another day in the Kuno Estate. Tatewaki practices his swordplay by shredding a large poster of Ranma mounted on a tree. While the pieces fall and are carried away by the wind, Kodachi comes out with a tea for her brother. She asks what happened to her poster of Ranma, to which he replies that he disposed of it. As he sips his tea, he realizes that it had been poisoned by his sister for destroying her poster. Kodachi then wraps him in straw and tosses him into the pond to be eaten by Mr. Green Turtle, their pet crocodile.
Kuno is tossed to be eaten by Kodachi.
Having somehow escaped the incident, Kuno goes to school and looks for Ranma. Ranma, seeing Kuno from a distance with his Bokken over his head, assumes that he is there to attack and kicks his head. Kuno then explains that he and Kodachi had gotten into a fight and needs his assistance. He tells Ranma that the only way Kodachi would accept a truce is if Ranma became her slave for a day. Ranma is uninterested and begins to leave, but Kuno hopes to entice him by paying with his collection of the pig-tailed girl, i.e. his girl-form. Ranma decides that in order to get those pictures he has to play along.
Ranma arrives in Kuno's house, where he is informed by him that Kodachi took the collection of pictures. Upon seeing Ranma, Kodachi leaves to get ready, covering both with rose petals. She shows up wearing a kimono and offers them some tea before taking her leave. Instead of drinking, they stare into the cup knowing that they may contain poison. Kuno calls his dog Armadillo over and gives it to him instead, at which point he becomes paralyzed and starts shaking.
Tatewaki becomes angry and takes out his bokken to look for his sister. He is thrown onto the floor by Kodachi's ribbon. She takes out the photo album, but the collection is quickly taken from her hand by Ranma, who had transformed while they were fighting. Ranma opens the album to find it full of candid pictures of herself, mostly topless. This starkly contrasts what Ranma was expecting, as she imagined it to be full of herself in risqué poses in lingerie. While Ranma looks through the collection Kuno hugs her from behind. While they are distracted, Kodachi tosses a bouquet of roses that releases paralyzing gas, giving her time to steal album back. Kuno then says it's all right since they could just make more. Ranma hits his head in response.
Kodachi holds Kuno's precious collection.
Ranma, now male again, is escorted to Kodachi's room holding a bouquet of flowers. As she puts him in collar and chain, Tatewaki demands that she returns the album since his part of the deal was fulfilled. Kodachi rejects this and instead demands the he apologizes to her first. Ranma then realizes that the whole ordeal can be resolved if Tatewaki simply apologized. However, he is completely unwilling to apologize to his sister, which prompts Ranma to beat him up. While down on the floor, Kuno gives a smirk before quickly going around Kodachi's room, grabbing every pictures of Ranma on the wall, and lighting it on fire.
Ranma sees this as an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone and suggests to Kodachi that she should burn the album as revenge. Kodachi, fueled by anger, sees that as being too easy and decides instead to use the album to spread vicious rumors about Kuno and the pig-tailed girl.
