Akane meets several members of the Okama gang.
The Okama Gang are an unnamed group of homosexual transvestites who are lead by Madam Kamanbell and act as the main antagonists for the live-action special. The group strive to find the Japanese Nannīchuan so that they can turn every woman of the world into a man, thus creating for them a dream world. Once they discover the location of the spring, several members are sent after Akane in order to retrieve her pendant so that they can open the spring. Unfortunately for the gang they are defeated by Ranma and Akane are flee.
The group's name is based around the pun/wordplay of "okama" being a derogatory word for male crossdressers or homosexuals in Japanese. They are also typically shown using the scythe-like weapon called a Kama, further enforcing the "Okama" wordplay.
