Kitty Films (キティ・フィルム Kiti Firumu?) was the production company behind most of the animated adaptations of Ranma ½. Kitty no longer holds the rights to any of its animated productions and is now primarily a talent agency.
Kitty's animated adaptations of Rumiko Takahashi's works were produced by founder Hidenori Taga and planner Shigekazu Ochiai (a longtime friend of Takahashi's; d. 1999).
History[]
Founded in 1972, Kitty was originally Kitty Music Corporation (キティ・ミュージック・コーポレーション Kiti Myūjikku Kōporēshon?), which produced soundtrack albums for several live-action TV series and movies during the 1970s.
It changed it's name to Kitty Enterprise (キティ・エンタープライズ Kiti Entāpuraizu?) sometime later. The company changed it's name to Kitty Films sometime in 1982.
Kitty's final animated production was 10 Tokyo Warriors (1999-2002).
