The Martial Arts Tea Ceremony Arc is the eleventh story arc covered in the Ranma ½ manga, spanning three chapters. This arc was included in volume 6 of the Weekly Shōnen Sunday tankōbon and volume 5 of the Viz Media tankōbon.
Plot Summary[]
After rescuing him from his runaway horse, Ranma is kidnapped by Sentaro Daimonji in the hope that she can become his new bride instead of "Miss Satsuki".[1][2] Once Ranma completes her training in the ways of Martial Arts Tea Ceremony, she is shocked to see that "Miss Satsuki" is actually a monkey.[2][3]
Despite initially refusing to fight a monkey, Ranma quickly finds herself fighting regardless after being provoked. Although seemingly outclassed Ranma soon gains the upper-hand, until Sentaro intervenes with a plan to kill both Ranma and "Satsuki" in the hope of marrying Akane instead.[3] Fortunately the real Satsuki arrives on the back of Sentaro's horse and explains how she sent her pet monkey, Sanae, in her place when she became too nervous about meeting Sentaro in person. Having finally met face-to-face, Sentaro and Satsuki fall madly in love and immediately head out on their honeymoon, only to get lost at the Tendo Dojo...[3]

Changes in anime[]
- Ranma stops the running horse intentionally, not by running from cat Shampoo.
- While anime often adapted arcs out of order, this one was adapted much later.
- Ranma fight Sentaro's grandmother, instead of Satsuki's monkey.
- Sentaro's fiancee (and monkey) are completely missing from the original story. She is introduced later in mostly filler episode.
