The Pill Box Arc is the 113th story arc covered in the Ranma ½ manga, spanning two chapters. It was included as part of Volume 36 of the Weekly Shōnen Sunday tankōbon and volume 34 of the Viz Media tankōbon.
Plot Summary[]
Seeing that Ranma hasn't been the same since moving home, Nodoka instructs him to give Akane a small box which she thinks Akane could make use of. Curious, Ranma looks in the box and is shocked to see it contains what appears to be an engagement ring![1]
Having not seen Akane since moving in with his mother, Ranma thinks of multiple possible ways he could give Akane the box without making a big deal out of it, none of which succeed.[1]
Word soon reaches Ranma's other fiancées who all plan to get the ring for themselves before anyone else. Eventually Ranma loses his other fiancées and finally manages to give Akane the box, who loves the gift and wonders if it will fit. When Akane tries to remove the ring, however, the whole lid comes off, revealing a secret assortment of pills Nodoka uses to help deal with the stresses of being married to a Saotome.[2]
