The Ryoga Hibiki Intro Arc is the fourth story arc covered in the Ranma ½ manga, spanning seven chapters. It was included cross Volume 1 and 2 of the Viz Media publication and in Volume 2 of the Shonen Sunday publication.

Plot SummaryEdit

After much searching, Ryoga Hibiki finally manages to find Ranma in order to get revenge on the fight which Ranma never showed up for (Ranma actually waited three days for Ryoga, with Ryoga arriving on the fourth).[1] In order to settle the issue, the pair agree to have a rematch. During the week leading up to the fight, Ranma remembers when he took Ryoga's bread and decides that must be the reason why Ryoga's so angry.[2]

When the time of the fight arrives, Ranma tries to make it up to Ryoga, but this just makes Ryoga more angered. The pair then engage in a fight, during which time Ranma's curse is revealed to Ryoga as well as Akane's hair being cut by one of Ryoga's spinning Bandannas. This even effectively brings an end to the fighting between Ranma and Ryoga.[2][3][4]

With her hair now having been cut, Akane goes to Kasumi in help tidy it up a bit. Akane then notices she's twisted her ankle, so decides to have Dr. Tofu take a look at it. Ranma learns of this so follows her to Dr. Tofu's Clinic, where he and Genma observe Akane crying on Dr. Tofu's chest. On the way home, Ranma compliments Akane's new hairstyle and the pair share a moment of silence, before Akane pushes Ranma into the storm drain.[5]

Some days later, and Ranma is awoken by Ryoga during a dark stormy night. The two then prepare to face each other, however, the fight is disrupted by Akane who was awoken by Kasumi, believing Ryoga to be a burglar, throws a pair of Dumbbells at him. This causes Ryoga to drop his Umbrella while it's raining so he runs away. This makes Ranma believe Ryoga might have a Jusenkyo curse as well and so goes looking for him.

When Ranma returns, she finds out Akane discovered a black piglet in her room. Akane asks Ranma to take the piglet for a bath with her as it's soaked through. Ranma eventually does so, where she learns the piglet was actually Ryoga's cursed form.[6] Shortly after explaining how he got his curse, Ryoga realises that it was Ranma and Genma who knocked him into the Spring so tries to attack Ranma for it (Ranma stops Ryoga by turning him back into a piglet.[7]

Hearing the commotion between Ranma fighting with her new pet, Akane takes her piglet away as she's tired. Knowing the piglet's true identity, Ranma tries to separate the pair while Akane's sleeping. Unfortunately, Ryoga (still in piglet form) pushes Ranma into Akane, waking her and thrown out the window by Akane for his perverted antics.[7]
